#cpmilenio reflections
Campus Party Milenio is finished and now we can draw some conclusions from a technical perspective shown at the fair.
This is how our stand looked like and how the smart city and specially the GAM were permanently present.
On the technical side, we have to point out that in addition to the installation we made for SIMO (you can see it here) we added items such as the led lamps that can be seen in the picture and a new and more intuitive interface for controlling and consumption measurement.

Working on the Campus Party Milenio de Granada
Preparando la Campus Party Milenio de Granada
Just when SIMO Network has finished, at cilab we are working again for another event: the Campus Party Milenio de Granada, a technological meeting which will take place from October 13rd to 16th at Fermasa (Feria de Muestras de Armilla) inaugurated by HRH Príncipe de Asturias and his wife, Princess Letizia.
Reflections about SIMO Network 2011
Reflexiones sobre SIMO Network 2011
As we have been talking about for some days, cilab has won the Vivero Award and we are participating at SIMO Network. There’s no doubt that SIMO Network is the most important technological fair in Spain. A few years ago, the most important exhibitors didn’t want to assist to it so the event was cancelled. From then on, SIMO Network is directed to professionals instead of to the general public with free entrace.
Getting the SIMO demo ready
Preparando la demo para el SIMO
Right now we are at the lab working full duty to get the technological demo ready for the next week SIMO Network event.
Summing up everything we have done on a 2 square meters area is not an easy task, and even less so taking account of the closeness of the event, but everything is working out ok.
We will show the same technology we used at the presentation party. Our new revision of the platform is not mature yet to show it to the world. We hope everyone likes it.
Vivero 2011 Award, at the media
El premio Vivero 2011, en los medios
SIMO Network is one of the most important technological events in Spain, so winning the Vivero 2011 Award – which offers a free participation at the fair- is a great opportunity for the selected companies.
PlagaOS: Vicente’s dissertation
PlagaOS: Proyecto de fin de carrera de Vicente
Last September 21st, Vicente -one of cilab members- presented his dissertation Plaga Open Solution (PagaOS) at the University of Granada.
And the winner is…
cilab has recently been awarded a Vivero 2011 prize from SIMO Network so we have won a free participation at the fair which will take place from October 4th to 6th in Madrid. Besides cilab, other 5 companies have been awarded and will also participate at the fair. We want to congratulate the other contestants with whom we are going to share this new experience.
cilab presentation at the media — La presentación de cilab, en los medios
Our presentation last Thursday June 30th has had its first results at the local media in Granada with some articles about cilab. On Friday, the printed version of Granada Hoy published a full-page article about us and the same article can be seen online at Granada Hoy website.
Making the Internet of Things
Merely a week after we got our new boards we have proudly made our first real entrance into the Internet of Things.
As we posted a few weeks ago, we’ve been trying to stay away from architectures involving gateways as we think they are a burden for the full development of M2M applications. Now we can state that a complete IP system from head to toe is possible and working far better than we expected.
At this moment we have several motes scattered over the lab, each one controlling a device and forming a global, dynamic-routed cloud network which can be accessed from any computer in the Internet completely via IPv6. So we can, literally, ping a lamp-post.
cilab, new member of IPSO Alliance – cilab, nuevo miembro de IPSO Alliance
cilab has become a new member of IPSO Alliance, leading organization in technologies related to the Internet of Things. Its purpose is to establish the Internet technologies as a standard for the communication of Smart Objects and promote the use of the Internet Protocol (IP).
World IPv6 Day
Today is the world IPv6 day. Congratulations, if you are using the new Internet Protocol.
If we open a browser with the following address http://www.ipv6es.es/world-ipv6-day.php we can see something like this:
New arrival @cilab – Seguimos creciendo
Many of you have been asking us about the possibility of developing projects with our technology. So for our partners we decided to create an evaluation and development board. From September many Spanish Universities will include it in their teaching plans. If you want to be a part of our GAM development ecosystem you only have to contact us.
The new board has all the required inputs and outputs to test any prototype we could develop. All development tools are open source.
We hope you enjoy it as much as we do!
ip4 peak
